Sonic Acts

The countdown to Sonic Acts Biennial 2026 has officially begun! With the theme _Melted for Love_ and a new visual identity now unveiled, details about the programme and tickets will gradually unfold throughout November and December 2025. Stay tuned for updates about visiting and the open calls for workshops and volunteering.

The Biennial is our large-scale international event held once every two years in Amsterdam. From 5 February to 29 March 2026, it brings together artists, musicians, filmmakers, and theorists from around the world across more than 15 iconic venues in the center of Amsterdam. Spatial sound concerts, audiovisual performances, club nights, workshops, symposium, listening sessions, and a five-venue large scale exhibition run alongside each other, creating a dynamic space where artistic practices respond to a shared theme. 

Although the Biennial features over 80 events dispersed throughout two months, Sonic Acts still plans to celebrate its roots, or where it all started more than 30 years ago, as a multi-day Festival. For international visitors, the intensive ‘festival weekend’ running from 26 February to 1 March offers the best opportunity to experience the whole width of the Biennial programme. Across these four days, audiences can enjoy almost non-stop programming across the weekend and into the following week. 

By the end of October, the first wave of participating artists will be announced. At the end of November, the full curatorial vision will be revealed, and the first tickets will go on sale, offering a glimpse of the wide variety of experiences to come. By mid-December, the complete programme will be published online as a detailed timetable, with all remaining tickets available for purchase.
